Order Based Outbound Fulfillment - SCM SD - Order Fullfillment 7.0 - 2010 - NEW SD replacement course

The scenario Order Based Outbound Fufillment is one of the major scenarios within the SAP SCM solution to cover the logistical needs of shippers. It deals with the fulfillment of standard customer orders with an emphasis on transportation management and follows the overall process from the order entry to shipment costing. Deliveries are performed with direct and/or multistop shipments on FTL and/or LTL Trucks. Three major SAP components together form this solution: Planning is done in SAP APO, SAP R/3 controls the execution part and the SAP EM delivers to you supply chain visibility.

Order Fulfillment becomes more high-profile & crucially an important function to support the back end Logistics.Order Management provides sophisticated translation, routing & status management of orders as they cycle through commerce partners. The transaction Manager coordinates & monitors picking, packing & delivery with the warehouse & distribution centers. It provides an extensive capability of customers to manage & execute the optimisation of freight flow & mode, less than truckload consolidation, optimal carrier assignment & coordination, cross-docking & distribution center- to-distribution center transfers.

Replenishment Based Distribution - SCM SD - Order Fullfillment 7.0 - 2010 - NEW SD replacement course

Managing replenishment processes efficiently is critical for several reasons. This scenario covers both the decision and planning related as well as the execution related parts of the process. It creates the necessary replenishment orders, plans and executes its movement in the course of transportation planning and automates the settlement of freight costs. The physical process or replenishing is fully visible to both the manufacturer and the customer from the beginning of the logistics operation until the final delivery to the replenishment site.

This course covers an important, uprising collaborative business process. Manufacturers collaborate with customers in order to keep negotiated stock levels via a VMI process (Vendor Managed Inventory). The scenario covers both the process of deciding when to replenish which quantity to which location as well as the process of planning executing the resulting transportation needs. To secure efficiencies in transportation, the replenishment quantities are planned together with transportation volumes out of other processes, like inbound logistics or regular order based fulfillment. The scenario orchestrates functionalities of different components. SAP APO does the demand and transportation planning portion of the process. SAP R/3 executes the logistics processes; finally the SAP Supply Chain Event Manager provides supply chain visibility.
